Homestead & Co is a natural, lifestyle-driven brand based on a lifestyle block in Te Kauwhata, Waikato. Everything is made on site – from skincare and teas to workshops, crafts, and garden experiences – all grounded in a back-to-basics approach that’s wholesome, considered, and made to be shared.

THE SOLUTION

Previously operating as All Things Spice, the business had outgrown its original name and needed a brand that could unify its expanding offering. We developed the new name, Homestead & Co, to act as an umbrella brand – one that could comfortably house a wide range of products and experiences while supporting future growth.

The direction centred on simple, homely, and natural. This translated into a refined, pared-back identity with clean typography, spacious layouts, and subtle organic details. Gentle imperfections and hand-drawn elements bring warmth and authenticity, while a soft, earthy palette and tactile finishes carry the brand through into packaging and print.

THE RESULTS

The result is a brand that feels calm, confident, and deeply aligned with the way the business operates. It brings clarity to a previously broad and evolving offering, while giving everything a consistent and recognisable presence under one name.

It now speaks directly to the kind of customer they want to attract – those drawn to natural, considered living – while giving the business confidence in how it presents itself and a strong foundation to grow from.

THE SEASONAL BRAND METHOD

Our unique, strategic approach to branding that uses seasonal colour psychology to shape how a brand looks, feels, and connects with its audience. Rather than choosing colours based on preference, we build a palette and visual direction that aligns with the emotional experience the brand needs to create – balancing tone, warmth, energy, and depth.

Homestead & Co is rooted in a Summer palette – balanced, ethereal, heirloom, high-quality, natural, relaxed, and understated. Layered through are Autumn undertones of artisan, authentic, cosy, rustic, and warm.

For colours, we’ve woven in sage greens and natural browns with a summery edge, but also added bolder tones – duck egg, petrol, and crimson – to give you distinction from other brands (like existing Tallow balms on the market) and capture that feeling you described: warm, cosy, and comforting, like being at your aunty’s house and never wanting to leave.

Visually, the Summer influence points us toward hand-drawn illustrations, understated yet premium paper stocks (soft linen, natural textures), and a photography style that’s low-contrast, natural, and refined. Print finishes could include blind embossing or letterpress.
